The Laugavegur
I came back on Iceland after seven years. For all that time, I have been dreaming about passing Laugavegur - the most breathtaking trekking route on the island. The Laugavegur is famous for its landscape diversity: from lava fields of Landmannalaugar to the glacial valley of Þórsmörk. Hot springs, glacial rivers, fumaroles, fields of moss and volcanic rocks… but also fog, snow, lots of rain… and different moods. Due to the safety reasons, the trail is open for hikers only for two months during the year (from July to August). During this time, hundreds of hikers from around the globe come to Iceland to face with nature (and with themselves).
